SCOUTING THE VAQUEROS (1-1-0, 0-0-0 WAC)
The Vaqueros own a victory over the Siena Saints 4-1 and a loss to Saint Francis (Pa.) on the season. Both contests were played at Houston Baptist. Senior Jaakko Hietikko scored the Vaqueros first goal of the win over Seiana assisted by fellow senior Isaiah Hinds. Hietikko also earned an assist when freshman Damian Magallan Jr. scored less than two minutes later. Magallan scored again off of a pass from senior Isidro Martinez to close out the game. In the goal, Andy Rios faces seven shots while making three saves.

Houston Baptist opened the 2018 campaign with a tie against Siena and a win against Saint Francis (Pa). Sophomore Gianluca Natera leads the team with two goals on the season so far. Malik Key and Thomas Menke each have one assist, and Jorge Cabrera has two saves. The Huskies finished last season with a 5-10 record with a 2-8 conference finish.
SCOUTING THE MASTODONS (1-1-0, 0-0-0 Summit League)
The Mastodons are coming off a 3-2 loss to Wright State on Monday night. Freshman Tor Erik Valderhaug Larsen started in goal and earned four saves on the night. On the offensive end, Blake Cearns scored his second goal of the season with an assist from Zach Tom. The second goal of the night was a header from Chris Baranowski assisted by Romain Lopez. This was Baranowski's first goal of the season and second of his career.
TRIPLE THREAT
In the Summit League, Purdue Fort Wayne currently holds three of the top five spots for number of goals and number of points. Matthew Lieshout is second in the league in both categories with three goals and six points. Blake Cearns follows close behind with two goals and four points. The third Mastodon is freshman Ryan Bernt, who has one goal and three points so far in the season. Goalie Tor Erik Valderhaug Larsen is also third in the league for saves (4).
