Mastodons Fall to Ramblers at Loyola Chicago
8/31/2018 8:58:00 PM | Women's Soccer
CHICAGO - Thanks to a balanced attack from the Ramblers on Friday night (Aug. 31), Loyola Chicago topped Purdue Fort Wayne 4-0 at the Loyola Soccer Park.
The Ramblers found the back of the net for the first time in the 27th minute, playing from the center of the box and a strike from Aleksa Tataryn from 12 yards out. Loyola scored again in the 43rd minute to extend the lead that the Mastodons would not take back. Four different Ramblers scored on their home field.
The Mastodons had a few good scoring opportunities, but could not convert. Kailyn Wade tried to replicate her goal against Valparaiso, but hit the post just 41 seconds into regulation. Baylee Kramer took two back-to-back shots in the second half, but both were blocked by Loyola defenders. Kayla Wisniewski took two shots on goal to lead the Mastodons.
Lorah Pund, Haley Lydon and Emma Gaggioli split the 90 minutes in the net, totaling four saves.
Purdue Fort Wayne drops to 1-3-1 while Loyola improves to 3-2-0. The Mastodons are back in action on Sunday (Sept. 2) in a home match with Tennessee Tech. This match will take place on field two at the Hefner Soccer Complex at 1 p.m.
