Men's Soccer Returns to Summit League Play With Omaha

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Mastodons will look to even their Summit League record with a visit to Omaha on Saturday (Oct. 12) afternoon.

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS (3-9-0, 0-1-0 Summit League)
Tor Erik Larsen is third in the nation and leads the Summit League with 63 saves. The 'Dons resume conference play at Omaha, after playing a non-conference game against Notre Dame. This is the first time in program history the 'Dons have opened Summit League play with two road matches. Alex Frank leads the team with four goals.
SCOUTING THE MAVERICKS (2-6-2, 1-0-0 Summit League)
Aaron Uribe leads the Mavericks with two goals in 10 games. Vlad Jokic has scored once, assisted twice, and taken three shots. Omaha has victories over Army and conference opponent Western Illinois. They have dropped three overtime games this season against Michigan, CSUN, and No. 17 Missouri State.
SERIES HISTORY
Omaha leads the all-time series 4-3-1. All of the games have happened in the current decade. Only the first contest, a 6-0 win on Sept. 4, 2011, was not a Summit League match. Mastodons' last win against the Mavericks was in 2014, 1-0. Last time they played each other, Omaha came out with the 4-1 victory. The Mastodons' 1-1 tie with Omaha in 2017 came with the Mavericks holding the No. 24 ranking in the nation.

The Mastodons have taken home a pair of Summit League Player of the Week honors this year. Blake Cearns took home the honor on September 16 after scoring two goals in a win over Belmont. Goalkeeper Tor Erik Larsen added the Defensive Player of the Week accolade a week later after a shutout of Green Bay and nine saves against Northern Illinois.
