Cross Country Heads Off to UE Invitational

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Purdue Fort Wayne cross country heads off to Evansville on Saturday (Oct. 19) for the University of Evansville Invitational. The Mastodons have not been to Evansville since 2016.
Meet: University of Evansville Invitational
When: Saturday, October 19 | 11 a.m.
Where: Evansville, Ind. | Angel Mounds State Historic Site
Field: Austin Peay, Evansville, Kentucky State, Marshall, Morehead State, Oakland City, Thomas More, Vincennes, West Kentucky CC and Western Kentucky.
Men's Preview (8K)
The Mastodons are heading to the 8K University of Evansville Invitational on Oct. 19. The last time the 'Dons were at Evansville was in 2016 where they placed first in the head-to-head meet 15 to 49. The Mastodons took the top six places. Alex Barton came in fifth (27:07.4) and Robert Peck was right behind Barton in sixth place (27:12.0). The 'Dons will return to an 8K distance after running a five-mile race at Notre Dame their last time out.
Women's Preview (5K)
Purdue Fort Wayne women's cross country will also head to the University of Evansville Invitational for the first time since 2016. Last time the Mastodons came home with a first place finish in the dual meet against Evansville 22-39. This will be the first meet this season the women's program will run against Division I foes Austin Peay, Evansville, Marshall, Morehead State and Western Kentucky. Kathy Potter has the Mastodons' best 5K time of the year after running 19:00.2 at Notre Dame.
