Notre Dame scored four goals in each half. Jack Lynn and John Rea each scored two goals in the game for the Fighting Irish.
The Mastodons best chance came in the second half. Mathias Mikalsen's shot from the right side required a leaping one-handed save by the Fighting Irish goalkeeper Keagan McLaughlin.
It was the first regular season meeting between the 'Dons and Fighting Irish since 1984. The two clubs played an exhibition in 2010.
Purdue Fort Wayne falls to 3-9-0. Notre Dame improves to 6-4-1. The 'Dons return to action on Saturday (Oct. 12). It will be a Summit League match for the 'Dons at Omaha.
