MADISON, Wis. - Purdue Fort Wayne women's cross country competed at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional at the University of Wisconsin - Madison on Friday (Nov. 15). The Mastodons were the only Summit League team competing at the regional and finished in 30th place with 940 points.

Freshman Kathy Potter led the way for the 'Dons and finished in 175th place with a time of 23:53.6. Sophia Hirzel was not far behind Potter in 177th place and a time of 23:58.2. Makaila Groves (191st, 24:47.7) and Kenzie Smith (199th, 25:12.3) followed. Smith finished her first NCAA Great Lakes Regional with a career-best time in a 6K.

Elana Kayser (211th, 26:43.1) and Lauren Morales (215th, 29:08.1) finished up for Purdue Fort Wayne at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.

Michigan State was the overall winner with 49 points and University of Wisconsin - Madison runner Alicia Monson was the individual winner with a time of 19:59.9.

This was the final race for the Mastodons as a Summit League member. When the 'Dons return to the course in 2020 it will be as a member of the Horizon League.
