Mastodons Host Heidelberg for First Game of Doubleheader

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Purdue Fort Wayne women's basketball will welcome Division III Heidelberg to the Gates Sports Center on Sunday (November 24) at 12:30 for the first game of a doubleheader with the men's team. The men will play Ohio Northern at 3 p.m. or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the women's contest.

Why Heidelberg?
Heidelberg University was the previous stop for Mastodon assistant coach Marcie Alberts. She spent five seasons as the head coach for the Student Princes, and she guided two players to join the 1,000-point club, and two players to All-Ohio Athletic Conference recognition.
Another Career-high Rebounding Night
Sh'Toya Sanders pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds against Southeast Missouri on November 21. She snagged eight offensive boards and seven defensive. She surpassed her previous career-high of 14, which she set against Ball State nine days earlier.
Between A Block and A Hard Place
Purdue Fort Wayne has the most blocks in the Summit League with 22 this season. Sh'Toya Sanders is responsible for 12 of those blocks. Sanders is 18th in the country and second in the Summit League in blocks. She had four blocks against Ball State and four against SEMO.
Steals, Steals, Steals
The Mastodons are second in the Summit League and 29th in the country in steals this season, nabbing 55 through six games.
That's a Lot of Minutes!
Three Mastodons are among the top four players in the Summit League with the most minutes played so far this year. Anna Lappenküper has played 217:30, Hannah Albrecht has played 208:46, and Riley Ott has played 189:00. Lappenküper is fourth in the nation in total time on the court. Shayla Sellers is seventh in the Summit League in minutes with 179:46.
