Mastodons Earn Two Second Place Finishes And School Record At League Meet

BROOKINGS, S.D. – A pair of runner-up finishes and a new school record in the 4x400 relay highlighted Purdue Fort Wayne women's track and field's day on Saturday (Feb. 23) at the 2019 Summit League Indoor Championships.
Lexi O'Connell, Olivia Coleman, Savannah Girolami and Ally Bailey combined for a time of 3:56.79 and a new school record in the 4x400 relay. The Mastodons took fifth in the event.
Emma Rafuse had a pair of runner-up finishes for the 'Dons. She was second in the 5K (16:52.43) and second in the mile (4:45.31). The times were a second off the school record in both events. Her 5K time was an indoor track 5K personal best.
Hannah Jennings had a PR in the shot put of 9.52 meters.
The Mastodons took seventh with 23 points. North Dakota State won the team title.
The 'Dons open outdoor track season March 29th at North Carolina State.
