The two clubs were equal in hits with the 'Dons and Redhawks each pounding out 11 hits. Alec Brunson totaled three hits including a double. Jack Lang finished with a pair of doubles and a run scored.
The Redhawks scored three runs in the first and four in the third to take early control of the game.
Garrett Mohler doubled down the line in the seventh to score Jack Lang. In the eighth Andrew Lawvere homered to left field on the third pitch of the at bat. He now has four home runs on the season, the most in the Summit League.
Chase Phelps took the loss for the 'Dons. He is 1-1. Dylan Dodd earned the win. He is also 1-1 with five innings pitched.
Purdue Fort Wayne is now 4-4. SEMO is 6-3.
Sunday looks bad for weather, so the two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday with a start time set for 11 a.m. ET.
