Game One – Butler 18, Purdue Fort Wayne 3
The 'Dons gave up three runs in the second but tied it back up with three runs in the third. A sacrifice set up Garrett Mohler with runners on second and third and one out. Mohler responded with a single up the middle to score both runs. Later in the inning Mohler scored on a Travis Upp sacrifice fly.
The Bulldogs opened the game up with three runs in the fifth, five in the sixth and seven in the seventh.
Mohler finished with three hits in the game for the 'Dons.
Chase Phelps is 1-2 after suffering the loss. He was one of five Mastodon pitchers used in the game. Sam Hubbe picked up the win. He is now 2-0.
Game Two – Butler 16, Purdue Fort Wayne 0
Butler scored one run in the first and then added to their lead with three more in the third. A nine-run sixth ended up expanding the lead.
The 'Dons had seven hits in game two with Upp recording two including a double.
Shane Odzark is 0-2. He threw 3.2 innings. Connor Schultz earned the win for Butler. He is now 3-0.
Purdue Fort Wayne falls to 4-10. Butler is now 8-5. The 'Dons travel to Ball State on Tuesday (March 12).
