Ball State Takes Midweek Contest From Purdue Fort Wayne

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne baseball team fell 11-6 to Ball State on Wednesday (March 13) in Muncie.
The Mastodons scored all six runs in the eighth inning. Jacob Dickson had a bases clearing 3-RBI triple in the frame. Travis Upp also had an RBI single in the inning. The frame started with a single by Trenton Stoner.
The 'Dons used seven pitchers with Trevor Armstrong starting and taking the loss. He is now 2-1. Nathan Hefle and Tyler Kissinger tossed scoreless frames for the Mastodons. Nick Floyd went 3.0 innings to get the win for Ball State.
Ball State's Aaron Simpson had a home run. John Ricotta had three hits. The Cardinals scored four runs in the second inning and two runs in the first, third and fourth as well as a single run in the seventh.
The Mastodons fall to 4-11. Ball State is now 9-8. The 'Dons open league play on Friday at Oral Roberts.
