Trenton Stoner had a hit for the Mastodons. Garrett Mohler, Andrew Lawvere and Alec Brunson had walks for the 'Dons.
Omaha took the lead for good with two runs in the second and took control with an 11-run third inning. Parker Smejkal and Keil Krumwiede each had four hits for the Mavericks. Spencer Koelewyn threw seven innings to get the complete game win. Shane Odzark started for the 'Dons and took the loss.
Omaha improves to 14-5-1 (6-0 Summit League). Purdue Fort Wayne falls to 4-18 (0-6 Summit League).
The 'Dons have their home opener on Thursday (March 28) afternoon. First pitch at Mastodon Field against Anderson is set for 3:30 p.m.
