SDSU Grabs Final Game Of Summit League Series

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Purdue Fort Wayne fell 8-0 on Sunday (March 31) afternoon to South Dakota State. The game was played on the artificial turf field of Frank Eck Stadium on the campus of the University of Notre Dame due to weather conditions in Fort Wayne.
Shane Odzark started on the mound for the Mastodons and was handed the loss. He allowed six runs (three earned) in 5.0 innings. He struck out five Jackrabbits. Cade Willard threw a scoreless two innings in relief.
Nic McCay started for SDSU. He went the distance for the complete game shutout.
South Dakota State scored one in the first, two in the second, two in the fourth and one in the fifth to take a 6-0 lead. They added single runs in the eighth and ninth to make the final 8-0. Landon Badger recorded three hits for SDSU.
Alec Brunson and Travis Upp had a pair of hits for the Mastodons.
SDSU improves to 14-10 (7-2 Summit). The 'Dons fall to 4-21 (0-9 Summit).
