'Dons Play Western Michigan On Tuesday In Non-League Play

The Purdue Fort Wayne softball team is back to non-league play against Western Michigan on Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Scouting the Mastodons (8-29): Lacey Wilzbacher is leading the squad with a .333 batting average, ranking 10th in the Summit League. She had two hits in game one vs. Omaha last Saturday, and two hits in game three. Lauren Watson brought her season hit total to 36. Lexi Smalarz, Sydney Windlan, Morganne Denny and Alise Hale all knocked home runs in the series. Alyssa Malicki and Lauren McConnell earned wins in the circle in the series.
Scouting the Broncos (12-19): Western Michigan won one of three against Ball State last weekend. Their one win was a 10-9 extra inning decision. Dysney Stefanick is hitting .412 on the season with a 1.215 OPS. She has 40 hits on the season. Kaylen Glenfield is next best on the team with 39 hits.
Series History: Western Michigan leads 4-3. The 'Dons earned a 9-6 win at Western Michigan last season. Lacey Wilzbacher and Morganne Denny each had a home run in the contest.
