Mastodons And Boilermakers Set For Wednesday Night Tilt

The Purdue Fort Wayne baseball team is traveling to West Lafayette to play a non-league game against Purdue University on Wednesday, April 24th at 6:00 p.m.

Scouting the Mastodons (5-32): Alec Brunson totaled three hits, which included a run scored and a RBI vs. Omaha on Sunday. Trenton Stoner contributed to game two on Sunday against the Mavericks by adding two RBI. Garrett Mohler had four hits in the Omaha series, taking him up to 36 hits on the season. Thanks to an outing on Sunday, Duane Miller hasn't allowed a run in five consecutive appearances. Brian Skelton has allowed just one run in his last six appearances.
Scouting the Boilermakers (13-25): Skyler Hunter leads the Boilermakers with a .328 batting average, 22 runs, and 44 hits for the season. Zac Fascia is also a threat for the Boilermakers with 18 RBI, 35 hits, and two home runs. On the mound the 'Dons will see Patrick J. Smith. The lefty has a 4.99 ERA in 39.2 innings in 2019. He has yet to give up a home run. The Boilermakers are scheduled to play Chicago State on Tuesday night prior to facing the Mastodons on Wednesday.
