Mastodon Baseball Travels to NDSU This Weekend

Purdue Fort Wayne baseball returns to Summit League play with a three-game series at North Dakota State.

Purdue Fort Wayne: RHP Cameron Boyd, RHP Chase Phelps, LHP Justin Miller
North Dakota State: RHP Zach Smith, LHP Max Loven, RHP Ben Smith
Scouting the Mastodons (5-40): Garrett Mohler leads the Mastodons in batting average (.271), runs (20) and hits (41) this season. When the Bison came to the Summit City in early April, the 'Dons pushed the second game to extra innings, eventually falling 5-4 in 11. Justin Miller threw four scoreless innings against the Bison in game three. Alec Brunson had four hits that weekend. Earlier this week, Brandon Yoho had four hits at Bowling Green.
Scouting the Bison (16-21): North Dakota State currently sits at 12-12 in the Summit League, tied with Western Illinois for fourth. They are both fighting for a spot in the four-team Summit League Tournament. Two of the Bison's weekend starters have ERAs under 3.00 and winning records.
