
Cross Country Stays Home for Rumble in the Fort

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Mastodons will remain at home for the first time since 2013 and host the Rumble in the Fort Friday, September 13 starting at 3 p.m. Purdue Fort Wayne will be co-hosting the meet with Indiana Tech.

MEN'S PREVIEW (8K)
Purdue Fort Wayne is coming off of a fourth place finish at the Mel Brodt Collegiate Opener in a 5K at Bowling Green State University on August 30. Sammy Moran led the way for the 'Dons with a fifth place finish and a time of 15:54.3. Following shortly behind Moran was freshman Draven Thompson in 14th place (16:30.0) and Andrew Whitinger in 17th (16:35.8).Three more Mastodons finished in the Top 30, Robert Peck (21st, 16:40.7), Husam Saleh (22nd, 16:44.3) and Austin Rockstroh (30th, 17:18.3). Michael Oliver (33rd, 17:31.2), Weston Miser (35th, 17:45.9), Conner Bayne (36th, 17:56.2), Cory Waldron (38th, 18:07.3) and Karter Tow (39th, 18:14.9) concluded for the 'Dons.
WOMEN'S PREVIEW (5K)
The Mastodons are running into the Rumble in the Fort after finishing fourth at the Mel Brodt Collegiate Opener on August 30. Freshman Makaila Groves began her collegiate career with a 25th place finish and a time of 19:53.6. Right behind Groves was Sophia Hirzel in 27th (19:58.6). Rounding out for Purdue Fort Wayne was Kathy Potter (29th, 20:39.6), returning 'Don Elana Kayser (32nd, 21:41.0), Kenzie Smith (34th, 24:08.2) and Lauren Morales (35th, 25:35.9).

Purdue Fort Wayne will travel to Chicago, Ill. for the Loyola Lakefront Invitational on September 28. This will be the first time the 'Dons will be going to Loyola.
