SAN FRANCISCO - Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball dropped a pair of matches at the San Francisco Tournament on Friday (Sept. 6) at the Sobreto Center.
GAME 1

The Mastodons had a set point opportunity at 24-23, but Nevada took four of the last five points to go up 2-0. The third set was all Wolfpack, as they used a 12-2 opening run to start, and a 7-1 run later to go up 13. The 'Dons took six straight points, including a pocket pair of aces and a pair of kills from Crowe, but Nevada took the last three points of the morning.

The Dons jumped out to a 17-10 lead before the Mastodons called a timeout. The 'Dons charged back with a 6-1 run that forced a USF timeout. Madelyn Wurster and Sandra Hoevels both combined for a pair of blocks in this run. The Dons took six of the last eight points to take the first set.
USF used a 4-0 run to start the second set, and would only expand the lead from there. The Dons used a 7-2 run to go up 2-0. Maddi Nell had an ace just before this run. Purdue Fort Wayne held close in the third after a San Francisco run thanks to four straight points under Sidney Schiller's serve. The freshman topped off the run with an ace.
