South Dakota State comes to Fort Wayne without Mike Daum for the first time in four years. The three-time Summit League Player of the Year has graduated. But SDSU still features plenty of talent, as shown by their 3-1 mark in Summit League play. Douglas Wilson is averaging 17.8 points per contest. SDSU's only league loss came to Omaha.

SDSU leads the all-time series 19-13. The 'Dons won in Fort Wayne last season by a score of 104-88. In fact, the 'Dons have taken the last 4-of-6 from SDSU in the Summit City.

• Marcus DeBerry is averaging only 1.6 fouls per 40 minutes in his career, this includes his time at Northern Arizona and Purdue Fort Wayne.
• This season, Marcus DeBerry is being called for 1.38 fouls per 40 minutes. First in the league and 31st in the nation.
• The Mastodons' 75.0 percent shooting (18-of-24) in the second half against UNLV is the best half of shooting by a Summit League team this season.

• Deonte Billups finished with a career-high 19 points.
• Jarred Godfrey recorded his second career double-double with 26 points and a career-high 13 rebounds.
• The Mastodons totaled 52 points in the paint. It is the most since the 'Dons recorded 52 points in the paint against Stetson on Dec. 16, 2017.

• The 'Dons are limiting opponents to 69.1 points per game this season. The last time the 'Dons finished a season limiting opponents to less than 70 points per game was in 2014-15 when foes averaged 67.1. The Division I era record for best opponent scoring average for the 'Dons was the 2012-13 squad that gave up 66.0 points per game.

• The Mastodons have held six opponents to 60 or fewer points this season.
