Men's 4x400m Relay Breaks School Record

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's track and field program hosted the Mastodon Invitational on Saturday (Jan. 18) where the 4x400m relay team broke the school record with a time of 3:28.01, a full second faster than the previous record.
In the beginning of the meet, Alex Barton, Robert Peck and Austin Rockstroh were honored as the meet represented Senior Day.
Brent Donaldson, Connor West, Ben Marano and Braxton Trittipo defeated Wabash by a full two seconds, finishing in first place.
Austin Rockstroh finished his Senior Day with a sixth place finish in the 5000m run and a personal best time of 16:54.38. Gabe Garcia walked away with a sixth place finish in the 60m dash and a time of 8.81. Weston Miser made his way through the 800m run with a time of 2:02.93 and a fifth place finish out of 25 individuals.
Bradon Gulch took home two top five finishes. He competed in the shot put with a mark of 14.12m and took fourth place and also competed in the weight throw with a fifth place over finish and a mark of 14.05m. Luke Beehler took fourth place in the long jump and had a mark of 6.56m.
Purdue Fort Wayne finished the meet in sixth place and 50.5 points. Indiana Tech took home first with 168.5 points.
The Mastodons will head on over to Youngstown, Ohio for the YSU National Mid-Major Invitational. The meet will take place on Friday (Jan. 31) and start at 10 a.m.
