Scouting Loyola
The Loyola Ramblers are coming to Purdue Fort Wayne after a 3-0 loss against the Lewis Flyers on Friday (Feb. 29). Jake Maffett posted seven kills and Jake Freeman recorded 10 digs. Loyola only led Lewis in one category, out-blocking them 3-1. Lewis had a hitting percentage of .463. The Ramblers faced off against McKendree on Thursday (Feb. 27) notching a 3-1 win. Cole Schlothauer had a career-high 22 kills on .462 hitting percentage.
Scouting Sacred Heart
The Pioneers will head to Arnie Ball Court on Friday (March 6) after falling 3-0 to Benedictine on Tuesday (March 3). Calin Butler led both teams with 15 kills and had two assists, one ace and one block. Ramiro Balaguer tallied 15 assists for the Pioneers. Sacred Heart had a .076 hit percentage, while Benedictine recorded a .180 hit percentage on the night.
Ramblers vs. 'Dons
The last time the Mastodons and Ramblers met, the 'Dons won the match 3-0. It was the first time Purdue Fort Wayne had beaten Loyola since 2013 and the first time in three sets since 2007. Pelegrin Vargas tallied 19 kills, while Tomas Gago collected 10 and Jon Diedrich had eight. Wilmer Hernandez totaled a career-high three blocks and Frederico Santos had 39 assists and four digs.
Pioneers vs. 'Dons
Last time the 'Dons and Pioneers met, the Mastodons took home a 3-1 win. Five 'Dons had eight or more kills; Pelegrin Vargas (15), Colton Stone (14), Tony Price (9), Tomas Gago (9) and Richie Diedrich (8) were the majority of the offensive attack. Vargas and Stone added two aces each, with Michael Keegan also having one. Keegan also tallied 52 assists, 13 per set.
Elite Mastodons
The Mastodons have been stellar against opponents outside of the AVCA Top 15 Coaches Poll since April 1, 2017. The 'Dons are 38-6 against unranked teams since that date.

Jon Diedrich led the way for the Mastodons with 21 kills, the most kills for him since the match against Queens on January 10.
