Two Podium Finishes Round Out the 2021 Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championships

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The 2021 Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championships concluded with two more podium finishes for the Purdue Fort Wayne women's track and field team at the Lutheran Health Fieldhouse on Monday (March 1).
Freshman Madison King ran her way to a second place finish in the 3000 meter finals with a time of 10:06.76. Paige Benecke completed the event in 10:54.97 and placed 11th. Mallory Clements came in 12th (10:59.38), Kathy Potter was 14th (11:08.05), Kiannah Sarver placed 16th (11:13.69) and Mercedes Sarver rounded out the Mastodons in 21st (12:11.43).
In the 4x400 meter relay, the 'Dons raced to a time of 4:00.41 and placed third on the podium. The relay team consisted of Rachel Pierre-Louis, Jesseca Hudson-Turpin, Maya Preece and Katie Clark.
Purdue Fort Wayne ended the meet tied in fifth place with Robert Morris and had a score of 42 points, 24 points higher than the Mastodons scored in the 2020 Summit League Indoor Track and Field Championships. Youngstown State Penguins won the team title with 186.16 points.
