Mastodons Run to Youngstown State for 2021 Horizon League Outdoor Track and Field Championships

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne track and field program will compete this weekend at the 2021 Horizon League Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Youngstown State. The meet will take place over three days with the event starting at 12 p.m. on Friday (May 7), 9 a.m. on Saturday (May 8) and 10 a.m. on Sunday (May 9).

In the 2021 outdoor track and field season, the Mastodons have broken 20 school records, four women's and 16 men's. John Jackman has set the 100 meter dash record twice and also broke the 200 meter dash school record. Freshman Dona Fagnon set the 110 meter hurdles record twice and Braxton Trittipo has reset the 400 meter dash record three times in four meets. Jesseca Hudson-Turpin has made her mark in the Purdue Fort Wayne school record book by breaking the 100 meter hurdles record at the Warrior Open and at the Gibson Invitational.
Last Time Out
The 'Dons most recently competed at the Valpo Invite at Valparaiso University on Saturday (May 1). The women's program took home three first place finishes and the men's had two with one school record being set. Jaden Warner broke the school record in the 100 meter dash and clocked in a time of 10.94, earning him third place. Warner also competed in the 200 meter dash and clinched first place with a time of 22.70. Brent Donaldson represented Purdue Fort Wayne in the 400 meter hurdles and placed first, running a time of 56.71. Rachel Pierre-Louis ran a time of 26.37 in the 200 meter dash and placed first overall. Makaila Groves was another first place finisher on the women's side with a time of 2:22.54 in the 800 meter run. Megan Sinnott threw to mark of 36.48m in the javelin and claimed first place overall, her second first place finish of the season.
