Track & Field To Compete at SVSU Classic

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne track & field teams return to competition in University Center, Mich. to compete in the SVSU classic on Friday, Jan. 14.
Field events will begin at 2:30 p.m. with the men's and women's high jump. Running events begin at 4 p.m. with the 600 meter run and will continue with a rolling schedule.
Top women's times and marks
The Mastodons women's track & field team has two athletes who rank at the top of the Horizon League in their respective event. Madison King is first in the women's 5,000 meter run (17:30.54) and Selena Johnson ranks first in the triple jump (11.73 meters).
The 'Dons also have several athletes who rank in the top five in the Horizon League, including Miranda Haney, who ranks second in the high jump (1.65 meters), Brayden Langdon is third in the 800 meter run (2:22.39), Jordan Yanders (8.88 seconds) and Jesseca Hudson-Turpin (8.89 seconds) are fourth and fifth in the 60 meter hurdles, Jai Reed ranks fifth in the long jump (5.57 meters), and Nakia Harris-Campbell is fifth in shot put (12.45 meters).

The 'Dons men's track & field team has multiple athletes who rank towards the top of the Horizon League in their respective events.
Asher Walden (16.35 meters), Zyler Johnson (16.13 meters), and Aaron Martin (14.33 meters), rank first, second, and fifth in the weight throw, the men's 4 by 400 team that consists of Nic Blair, Brent Donaldson, Braxton Trittipo, and Joe Cartwright are third (3:25.23), Kehinde Oladapo (14:52.10), Nathan Mills (14:53.10), and JT Hodges (14:54.76) rank third, fourth and fifth in the 5,000 meter run, Weston Miser (1:58.62) and Drake Kropf (1:59.25) are fourth and fifth in the 800 meter run, and Brejion Peters is fifth in the pole vault (3.60 meters).
