Haney Places First in High Jump at SVSU Classic

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Purdue Fort Wayne women's track & field student-athlete Miranda Haney won the women's high jump at the SVSU Classic on Friday, Jan. 14.
Haney jump of 1.59 meters was good enough to secure first place.
Other top performers for the 'Dons included Jesseca Hudson-Turpin (9.11 seconds) and Jordan Yanders (9.13 seconds), who were third and fourth in the 60-meter hurdles finals. The women's 4 by 400 team that consisted of Sophia Buck, Brayden Langdon, Jai Reed and Kathy Potter finished third (4:13.07).
Makaila Groves was fourth in the 600-meter run (1:45.75) and so was Louiza Kruiswijk in the long jump (5.31 meters). Nakia Harris-Campbell finished fifth in the shot put (12.14 meters).
The women's track & field team will be back in action on Saturday, Jan. 22 at the Mastodon Opener presented by Three Rivers Running Club at the Lutheran Health Fieldhouse.
