Haney Breaks Program Record In High Jump At Mastodon Invitational

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Miranda Haney broke the program record in the high jump at the Mastodon Invitational presented by Three Rivers Running Company on Saturday, Jan. 22 at the Lutheran Health Fieldhouse.
Haney's mark of 1.69 meters broke Naimah Slaughter's mark of 1.68 meters which was set back on Dec. 7. Haney took first in the women's high jump. She has earned the top spot in the high jump in back-to-back meets.
The 'Dons took the top spot in seven events on Saturday, including Haney in the high jump, Jesseca Hudson-Turpin (9.06 seconds) in the 60 meter hurdles, Jai Reed (7.93 seconds) in the 60 meter dash, Madison King in the 3,000 meter run (10:09[.47), the 4 by 400 team, which consisted of Sophia Buck, Hudson-Turpin, Brayden Langdon, and Dylan Kirkwood (4:09.50), Abbigail Garwood (11.97 meters) in the shot put, and Selena Johnson (11.57 meters) in the triple jump.
Other top finishers from Saturday's meet includes Jordan Yanders (9.16 seconds) and Buck (9.19 seconds) placed in second and third in the women's 60 meter hurdles, Louiza Kruiswijk (11.36 meters) and Ninti Little (10.57 meters) also took second and third place in the triple jump.
Payton McHenry finished in second in the long jump (5.09 meters). Katie Clark (26.67 seconds) was third in the 200 meter dash, and Nakia Harris-Campbell (11.13 meters) placed third in the shot put.
The 'Dons will travel to Youngstown, Ohio. to compete in the YSU Mid-Major invitational on Friday and Saturday Jan. 28 and 29. Youngstown State is also set to host the Horizon League Indoor Championships on Saturday and Sunday Feb. 26 and 27.
