Three Program Records Broken For Men's Track & Field at YSU-Mid Major Invitational

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio. – Cory Waldron, Zyler Johnson, and the men's distance medley relay team broke Purdue Fort Wayne program records at the YSU Mid-Major Invitational on Friday, Jan. 28.
Waldron broke the program record in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:07.50. The previous program record was held by Weston Miser at 1:09.19, which was set back on Feb. 1, 2020. Waldron finished fourth overall in the men's 500 meter run.
Zyler Johnson would break his own program record in the men's weight throw with a mark of 16.88 meters. Last week, he set the record at 16.44 meters. He finished in second in the men's weight throw.
The men's distance medley relay team that consisted of Kehinde Oladapo, Kobe Milledge, Miser, and Husam Saleh broke the previous school record with a time of 10:16.85. The previous record was 10:21.64 and set back on Feb. 15, 2020. The men's DMR team finished in first.
Kai Auernheimer (2,453 points) and Logan Alexander (2,411) are in fourth and fifth place through the first four events of the men's heptathlon. Alexander was first in the heptathlon high jump (1.90 meters). Auernheimer was third in the heptathlon shot put (10.96 meters).
The second day of the YSU Mid-Major Invitational starts at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday with field events. Track events will start at 10:30 a.m.
