Men's Track & Field Finishes Up YSU Mid-Major Invitational

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio. – The Purdue Fort Wayne men's track & field team finished its second day of competition at the YSU Mid-Major Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 29.
On the first day of the invitational, Luke Beehler broke the program record in the men's long jump at 6.94 meters. Beehler owned the previous record in the long jump, which was set back on Feb. 26, 2021 at 6.75 meters. Beehler placed seventh overall in the event.
In the men's heptathlon, Kai Auernheimer finished fourth overall with 4,255 points. He placed fourth in the pole vault (3.54 meters) and fifth in the 1,000 meter run (2:59.93).
In track events, Kehinde Oladapo finished third in the 800 meter run (1:54.44) and Dona Fagnon was fifth in the 60 meter dash (7.05 seconds). The men's 4 by 400 team of Nicolas Blair, Braxton Trittipo, John Jackman, and Dona Fagnon was seventh (3:26.20).
In addition, Cain Hohne (1.90 meters) took seventh and Austin Dove (1.90 meters) was ninth in the high jump. Brent Donaldson was 10th in the 60 meter hurdles (8.53 seconds).
The Mastodons have next weekend off, but will travel to two meets the following weekend.
A group of athletes will travel to Allendale, Mich. to compete in the GVSU Big Meet on Friday and Saturday Feb. 11 and 12. A second group will travel to Kent, Ohio to compete in the Doug Raymond National Qualifier, hosted by Kent State, on Friday and Saturday Feb. 11 and 12.
