Mastodons Host Youngstown State and Robert Morris

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball team is back in action this weekend with Youngstown State (Friday, Oct. 28) and Robert Morris (Saturday, Oct. 29) coming to the Gates Sports Center.

Know Your Foes
• Youngstown State is 10-13 and 4-8 in Horizon League play. The Penguins are coming off a 3-1 win over Milwaukee. Paula Gursching is averaging 5.06 kills to lead Youngstown State and the Horizon League.
• Robert Morris is 8-16 and 1-11 in the HL. The Colonials' only league win was over the Mastodons last month and have lost seven in a row. Abby Ryan is RMU's best hitter, averaging 3.05 kills per set.
Series Histories
• Purdue Fort Wayne is 6-2 against the Penguins, but YSU has won the last two. The Mastodons' last win came in 3-0 fashion last season.
• Robert Morris won its first game against the Mastodons earlier this season, but the Colonials still trail the all-time series 7-1. Madelyn Wurster had 16 kills in the last Mastodon win in 2021.
She's Back!
Madelyn Wurster returned to play after an injury, making her season debut on October 18 at Green Bay. The fifth year opposite had 11 kills in three sets of action against IUPUI on Saturday (Oct. 22).
Player of the Week
Rachael Crucis was named one of the Horizon League Players of the Week on October 26. She led the Mastodons to a four-set win over IUPUI, recording 27 digs. She had the Horizon League's best 6.75 digs per set for the week. She helped hold IUPUI to .153 hitting for the match, including a .050 clip in the opening set.
That's a Lot of Digs!
The Mastodons had a season-high 91 digs in their match at Cleveland State (Oct. 14), recording 23 more than the Vikings in that contest.
Sidney Slammer
Sidney Schiller had 20 kills in the Mastodons' three-set match against Wright State. It was a career-high for Schiller in three-set matches. It was just two shy of her career-high in matches of any length.
Last Time Out
Purdue Fort Wayne defeated IUPUI 3-1 on October 22. Rachael Crucis had a match-high 27 digs.

The Mastodons will travel to Milwaukee (Nov. 1), Northern Kentucky (Nov. 4) and Wright State (Nov. 5).
