Track & Field Prepares for ISU Open

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne track & field teams travel to Terre Haute, Ind. to compete in the Indiana State open on Saturday, Feb. 19.
Saturday is the final meet before the Mastodons travel to Youngstown, Ohio for the Horizon League Track & Field Championships Feb. 26 and 27.
Field events are set to start at noon with the women's weight throw and long jump along with the men's pole vault and high jump. Track events will start at 12:30 p.m. with the men's 60 meter hurdle prelims.
Program Record
At last weekend's Doug Raymond Invitational, three program records were broken.
The men's 4 by 400 team of Brent Donaldson, Cory Waldron, Nicolas Blair, and Joe Cartwright broke the record at 3:22.06, the men's 4 by 800 team of Jarred Neff, Waldron, Kobe Milledge, and Bryce Taylor set the record at 8:16.42. Individually, Ninti Little broke the women's long jump record at 5.68 meters.
The 'Dons have broken at least one program record in all but one meet this season.
'Dons Rankings in the Horizon League
The 'Dons have four individuals who rank in the top five in their respective events in the Horizon League. Madison King is second in the women's 5,000 meter run (17:19.91), and third in the women's 3,000 meter run (10:04.27), Selena Johnson is third in the women's triple jump (11.73 meters), Miranda Haney is fourth in the women's high jump (1.69 meters) and Kehinde Oladapo is fifth in the men's 800 meter run (1:54.44).
The 'Dons also rank in the top five in several relay events. The men's (10:16.85) and women's (12:24.54) distance medley relay teams, along with the men's 4 by 400 meter team rank third in the Horizon League. The women's 4 by 400 team is fifth (4:03.54).
