Women's Track Finishes Second at ISU Open

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne women's track & field team finished second out of seven teams with 112 points at the ISU Open on Saturday, Feb. 19.
Indiana State won the meet with 176 points.
Jordan Yanders won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.76 seconds. Yanders was 0.02 seconds away from breaking Lexi O'Connell's record of 8.74 seconds. Jesseca Hudson-Turpin was second at 8.84 seconds.
Jai Reed (7.78 seconds) and Haley Pandazis (8.09 seconds) were second and fifth in the 60-meter dash. Reed (26.56 seconds) and Pandazis (26.80 seconds) also finished third and fifth in the 200-meter dash.
Selena Johnson (11.47 meters), Louiza Kruiswijk (11.35 meters), and Mariah Oberhaus (10.70 meters) were first, second and fourth in the triple jump.
In distance events, Brooke Neal finished second in the mile and (5:16.85) and 3,000-meter run (10:52.13). Kathy Potter was fourth in both the mile (5:21.60) and the 800-meter run (2:25.35). Madison Langdon was fourth in the 3,000 meter run (11:11.63).
In field events, Nakia Harris-Campbell was fourth in the shot put (12.27 meters) and fifth in the weight throw (13.62 meters). Miranda Haney (1.60 meters) and Allyssa Hennessey (1.50 meters) were fourth and fifth in the high jump. Selena Johnson was fifth in the long jump (5.21 meters).
The Mastodons travel to Youngstown, Ohio for the Horizon League Championships on Saturday and Sunday Feb. 26 and 27.
