CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Purdue Fort Wayne had its second-most hits of the season, but the Mastodons fell 8-2 at the hands of the Chattanooga Mocs on Sunday (Feb. 20).
Freshman Gracie Brinkerhoff (1-3) started and took the loss in the circle for Purdue Fort Wayne (1-9).
Senior Ashley Haas led the way offensively for the Mastodons, going 1-for-3 in the ballgame with a double and an RBI. Fellow senior Emma McMillan compiled a 2-for-3 effort.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Mastodons were trailing 5-0 in the fourth inning when they put runs their two runs on the board. Purdue Fort Wayne plated two, one of which was driven in on a run-scoring double off the bat of Haas. The 'Dons were unable to get any closer, as Chattanooga added three runs to their tally on the way to an 8-2 final.
