Men's Track & Field Breaks Three Program Records at Day One of Horizon League Championships

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Three program records were set for the Purdue Fort Wayne men's track & field team on day one of the 2022 Horizon League Indoor Championships on Saturday, Feb. 26.
Joe Cartwright broke the record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.38 seconds, Brent Donaldson broke his own record in the 60-meter hurdles at 8.29 seconds, and JT Hodges set the men's 5,000-meter run record at 14:46.86.
Point scorers on the men's side included the men's distance medley relay team of Kehinde Oladapo, Kobe Milledge, Weston Miser, and Husam Saleh. They were fourth (10:25.91), earning five points for the 'Dons. Cody Loshe, who was seventh in the pole vault (4.15 meters) picked up two points. Zyler Johnson (15.75 meters) and Asher Walden (15.66 meters) placed seventh and eighth in the weight throw (three combined points).
Athletes who qualified for the finals in their respective events include Donaldson in the 60-meter hurdles and Cartwright in the 400-meter dash.
Kai Auernheimer (2,466 points) and Logan Alexander (2,434 points) are fourth and fifth through four events on the men's heptathlon. Auernheimer finished third in the long jump (6.41 meters) and Alexander was third in the high jump (1.91 meters).
After the first day of competition, the men's team is in fifth place with 10 points. Youngstown State is in first after day one with 81 points.
