
Track & Field Start Outdoor Season at Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne track & field teams start the outdoor season at the 2022 Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge on Friday and Saturday March 11 and 12.

Friday Field Events Start: 10:00 a.m. (Men's Hammer Throw)
Friday Track Events Start: 2:45 p.m. (Women's 100-Meter Hurdles)
Saturday Field Events Start: 10:00 a.m. (Men's Hammer Throw)
Saturday Running Events Start: 10:00 a.m. (women's 3,000 meters run)
The meet consists of 35 teams, and will feature schools Division I opponents Costal Carolina, Howard, Tennessee State, and The Citadel.
The Mastodons last competed at the Horizon League Indoor Championships on Saturday and Sunday Feb. 26 and 27. The women's team placed fourth out of 11 teams, the men's team was sixth out of eight teams.
At the Horizon League Championships, the men and women teams combined for 12 new indoor program records.
The 'Dons had several podium finishers at the Horizon League Championships. The most notable finishers include Madison King, who finished second in the women's 3,000 meter run (9:56.72), and 5,000-meter run (17:07.04) and received second team All-Horizon League honors in both events. Dylan Kirkwood was third in the women's pentathlon with a program record 3,502 points and received Horizon League Honorable Mention honors for her performance.
The Mastodons will be back in action on Friday, March. 18 to compete in the Blizzard Buster, hosted by Miami (Ohio) in Oxford, Ohio.
