Walden Breaks Men's Hammer Throw Record at Myrtle Beach Collegiate Invite

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Purdue Fort Wayne student-athlete Asher Walden broke the program record in the men's hammer throw at day one of the Myrtle Beach Colligate Challenge on Friday, March. 11.
Walden's mark of 50.02 meters bests his pervious program record of 45.85 meters. Walden placed fourth overall in the event.
Top performers in field events include Luke Beehler, who was 11th in the long jump (6.55 meters), and Zyler Johnson who was 13th in the hammer throw (40.70 meters).
On the track, JT Hodges (4:04.46) was first and Weston Miser (4:13.14) was fifth in the men's 1,500-meter run. Braxton Trittipo was ninth in the 100-meter dash (11.38 seconds).
In relay events, the men's 4 by 800-meter team of Kehinde Oladapo, Husam Saleh, Miser, and Kobe Milledge was fourth (7:59.59). The 4 by 200-meter team of Cody Loshe, Brent Donaldson, Joe Cartwright, and Trittipo were fifth (1:31.36).
Day two of the Myrtle Beach Colligate Challenge kicks off at 9:30 a.m. with the men's discus throw.
