Men's Volleyball Host Daemen in a Non-Conference Match

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne men's volleyball team returns home for a non-conference matchup against Daemen College on Thursday, March 17 at the Gates Sports Center on the Arnie Ball Court.

Know Your Foe
Thursday's match will be the first time the 'Dons and Wildcats face off. The 'Dons are 16-2 all time against Independent schools, including a 7-1 record under head coach Ryan Perrotte.
Daemen enters Thursday's match with an 11-3 overall record. This will be the third of four road matches in a six day stretch for the Wildcats. Daemen lost to Loyola Chicago 3-1 on Sunday, March 13 and defeated Benedictine 3-0 on Monday, March 14. The fourth and final match of this stretch is against Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio on Friday, March 18.
The Wildcats suffered five-set losses against Sacred Heart on the road on Jan. 22, and against St. Francis Brooklyn on Jan. 29. The 'Dons defeated both Sacred Heart and St. Francis Brooklyn earlier in the season.
Leading the way on offense for the Wildcats is Zach Schneider. He leads in total kills (142) and kills per set (3.23) while hitting .295. Jake Couzens is another key member of the Wildcats offense. He is second in total kills (92), second in kills per set (2.00), and leads in hitting percentage (.471) and blocks per set (0.72). Michael Krueger and Robert Patzer have split time at setter. Krueger has played in six matches, but leads in total assists (215), and assists per set (9.77). Patzer has 193 total assists and averages 4.20 assists per set. Ryan Parker leads in digs per set (1.73).
