Mastodons Play at Quincy and Lindenwood This Week

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne men's volleyball team plays a pair of key road Midwestern intercollegiate Volleyball Association matches this week.
The Mastodons (13-10, 4-6 MIVA) travel to Quincy, Ill. for a match against Quincy on Thursday, March 31 (8 p.m.). Following Thursday's match, the 'Dons travel to St. Charles, Mo. For a match against Lindenwood on Saturday, April 2 (3 p.m.).

Nathan Lawton leads the Hawks in total kills (205), kills per set (3.31) and hits .263. Bryce Jones and Jonas Holzinger have split time at setter. Jones leads in total assists (363) and assists per set (8.25). Holzinger has 159 total assists and averages 6.91 assists per set. Noam Hannoun leads in digs per set (2.54).
Saturday's match will be the 21st all-time meeting between the Mastodons and Lindenwood. Over the last nine matches, the 'Dons are 7-2 against Lindenwood. The Lions enter the weekend with an 8-9 overall record and a 4-6 record in conference. The Lions host Loyola Chicago on March 31 before hosting the 'Dons.
Offensively, the Lions are led by Diego Negron and A.J. Lewis. Negron leads in total kills (202), is second in kills per set (3.21) and hits .261. Lewis leads in kills per set (3.30), is second in total kills (151), and hits .245. Connor Sheehan leads in total assists (522) and assists per set (9.67). MIVA Standings
The MIVA standings are heating up with only four regular season matches left. The Mastodons are tied in fourth place with Lewis, Lindenwood and Ohio State at 4-6. The team who finishes in fourth hosts a conference quarterfinals match Saturday, April 16. The MIVA semifinals and finals will be held on April 20 and 23. The highest remaining seed from each round hosts the semifinals and finals.

The Mastodons return to the Gates Sports Center for the final two matches of the regular season. They host Ohio State on Thursday, April 7 (7 p.m.) and Ball State on Saturday, April 9 (7 p.m.). The 'Dons celebrate senior night next Saturday.
