FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 15 Purdue Fort Wayne men's volleyball team is set to travel to Chicago to compete in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Semifinals match against No. 11 Loyola Chicago on Wednesday, April 20 (8 p.m.). The Mastodons are the No. 6 seed. Loyola holds the No. 2 seed.

Semifinals Notes
The Mastodons are making their first appearance in the MIVA semifinals since 2019. They defeated McKendree in four sets on Saturday, April 16 in Lebanon, Ill. Saturday was the first time the 'Dons won a MIVA tournament match since April 13, 2019 when they defeated Lindenwood in straight sets.
In Saturday's win over McKendree, the 'Dons out-hit the Bearcats .317 to .231. Freshman Zach Solomon had 45 assists, 11 digs and two aces. Jon Diedrich and Vicente Ibarra each had 18 kills. Kade Bontrager totaled 19 digs and eight kills.

Wednesday will be the 63rd match between the Mastodons and Ramblers. This is the first time the 'Dons and Ramblers have played three matches in a season since 2019. The 'Dons and Ramblers met in the MIVA semifinals in 2019 when the Ramblers won the match in four sets.
The Ramblers enter Wednesday's match with an 18-8 record. They defeated Lindenwood in straight sets in the MIVA Quarterfinals in Chicago. This is the fourth straight appearance for the Ramblers in the MIVA semifinals. They've won the previous three MIVA semifinals matches, but proceeded to lose all three matches in the MIVA championship match.
Offensively, the Ramblers are led by Parker Van Buren. The redshirt-freshman was awarded MIVA Newcomer of the Year and was nominated to the First Team All-MIVA team. Van Buren leads in total kills (372), kills per set (4.33) and hits .338. Garrett Zolg leads in assists per set (9.69) and digs per set (2.03). Andrew Lyons leads in blocks per set (0.85, min. 10 sets played).
MIVA Teams in the AVCA Top 15
In this week's AVCA top 15 poll, MIVA foes Ball State (No. 7), Loyola Chicago (No. 11), Lewis (No. 13) and Purdue Fort Wayne (No. 15) are ranked. The last time the Mastodons were ranked was back on Feb. 24, 2020 when they were ranked No. 14.
