Clark, Women's 4 by 100-meter Relay Team Break Program Records at Gibson Invitational

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Purdue Fort Wayne women's track & field student-athlete Katie Clark broke program records in the 400-meter on day two of the Gibson Invitational on Saturday, April 23.
Clark time of 55.31 seconds in the 400-meter dash best her previous school record of 55.95 seconds she set back on April 2, 2022. She finished third in the event.
The 4 by 100-meter relay team of Haley Pandazis, Josefin Wikfeldt, Jordan Yanders and Jai Reed finished third (48.16 seconds). The time breaks the previous record of 48.66 seconds, which was set back on March 30, 2019.
As a team, the Mastodons finished fourth out of eight teams with 118 points. Indiana State won the meet with 167 points.
Other top finishers in sprint events include Dylan Kirkwood (1:07.24) and Sophia Buck (1:08.82) finished in the top two spots in the 400-meter hurdles.
The 4 by 400-meter relay team of Katie Clark, Sophia Buck, Hudson-Turpin and Dylan Kirkwood finished third (4:00.63).
In mid-distance and distance events, Kathy Potter (2:21.03) and Makaila Groves (2:21.69) finished third and fifth place in the 800-meter run.
In field events, Ninti Little (5.41 meters) finished sixth in the long jump. Little also finished eighth in the triple jump (10.65 meters). Kelsey Shatava finished sixth in the high jump (1.45 meters).
In throwing events, Nakia Harris-Campbell (12.67 meters) and Abbigail Garwood (12.04 meters) finished second and fifth in the shot put. Harris-Campbell also finished sixth in the discus throw (26.53 meters).
The 'Dons will be back in action in Kalamazoo, Mich. to compete in the Jack Shaw Invitational on Friday and Saturday April 29 and 30. This will be the last competition the 'Dons compete in before the Horizon League Championships in Rochester, Mich. on May 6-8.
