Track & Field Competes in Final Meet Before Horizon League Championships

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne track & field teams are set to compete at the Jack Shaw Invitational, hosted by Western Michigan in Kalamazoo, Mich. on Friday and Saturday, April 29 and 30.
This weekend will be the last meet before the Mastodons compete in the Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 6-8 in Rochester, Mich.

The following athletes rank in the top 10 in the Horizon League in their respective events:
Braxton Trittipo is eighth in the men's 400-meter dash (49.95 seconds). Brent Donaldson is eighth in the 110-meter hurdles (15.21 seconds).
Andrew Whitinger (10:01.40) and Noah Wright (10:53.50) are seventh and 10th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
The 4 by 400-meter relay team of Donaldson, Trittipo, Nicolas Blair and Joe Cartwright are first (3:21.01). The 4 by 100-meter relay team of Dona Fagnon, Luke Beehler, John Jackman, and Donaldson are fifth (42.62 seconds).
Cody Loshe is fourth in the pole vault (4.53 meters). Cain Hohne is 10th in the high jump (1.94 meters).
Aaron Martin is second in the javelin throw (61.99 meters), seventh in the shot put (14.71 meters) and eighth in the discus throw (44.72 meters). Asher Walden is fifth in the hammer throw (52.71 meters). Zyler Johnson is seventh in the discus throw (45.41 meters) and hammer throw (48.58 meters). Kai Auernheimer is eighth in the javelin throw (52.29 meters).

The following athletes rank in the top 10 in the Horizon League in their respective events:
Katie Clark is first in the 400-meter dash (55.31 seconds). Jesseca Hudson-Turpin (13.88 seconds), Jordan Yanders (14.26 seconds), Sophia Buck (14.38 seconds), and Dylan Kirkwood (14.39 seconds) are third, fifth, sixth and seventh in the 100-meter hurdles. Buck (1:04.43), Hudson-Turpin (1:04.78) and Kirkwood (1:04.79) are sixth through eighth in the 400-meter hurdles.
Madison King ranks fourth in the 10,000-meter run (36:24.45) and fifth in the 1500-meter run (4:40.34). Brooke Neal is ninth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:39.06).
The 4 by 400-meter relay team of Clark, Buck, Hudson-Turpin and Kirkwood are fourth (4:00.63). The 4 by 100-meter relay team of Haley Pandazis, Josefin Wikfeldt, Jordan Yanders and Jai Reed are fifth (48.16 seconds).
Selena Johnson is second in the triple jump (12.08 meters). Miranda Haney is tied for fourth in the high jump (1.65 meters).
Nakia Harris-Campbell is eighth in the shot put (12.67 meters), ninth in the discus throw (37.96 meters), and hammer throw (45.52 meters). Megan Sinnott (38.36 meters) and Buck (32.73 meters) are third and eighth in the javelin throw.
Kirkwood (4375 points), Buck (4244 points) and Ramey Wilder (3495 points) are second, fourth and sixth in the women's heptathlon.
