FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Garett Lake hit his fifth home run of the season in Purdue Fort Wayne's 21-5 loss to UIC on Sunday (May 1).
Lake's home run came in the fifth as the 'Dons cut the deficit to 13-5. It was a two-run home run that scored Alex Evenson.
Lake, Jack Lang and Evenson were honored prior to the start of the game as part of Senior Day festivities.
Ben Higgins and Dylan Stewart each had three hits including a double in the game. Lake finished with a pair of hits and a walk on the day.
UIC took control early with multiple runs in each of the first four innings, including a five spot in the third and a four-spot in the fourth. Ryan Lin-Peistrup and Bobby Grimes each had a home run for the Flames.
GAME NOTES
» Four Mastodon hitters had multiple hits in the ballgame.
» Purdue Fort Wayne left 11 runners stranded on base in the loss.
» Mastodon pitchers recorded nine strikeouts.
» UIC's Rayth Petersen went 4-for-6 with three doubles and three RBIs.
