FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne track & field teams are set to compete in the 2022 Horizon League Track & Field Championships, hosted by Oakland in Rochester, Mich. this weekend from May 6-8.

Both the Mastodon men's and women's teams were picked fourth in the Horizon League Preseason Outdoor Track & Field poll.
Youngstown State is the defending men's and women's Horizon League Outdoor Champions. Last season the Mastodon men took fourth at the outdoor league meet. The women were sixth.
At the Horizon League Indoor Championships back on Feb. 26 and 27, the Purdue Fort Wayne women's team finished fourth out of 11 teams. The men's team finished sixth out of eight teams.

The following athletes rank in the top 10 in the Horizon League. Athletes who finish in the top eight at the Horizon League Championships receive points for their team.
Andrew Whitinger is seventh in the 3000-meter steeplechase (10:01.40). Braxton Trittipo is eighth in the men's 400-meter dash (49.95 seconds). Brent Donaldson is fifth in the 400-meter hurdles (55.27 seconds) and eighth in the 110-meter hurdles (15.21 seconds).
The men's 4 by 400-meter relay team of Trittipo, Donaldson, Nic Blair and Joe Cartwright is second (3:21.01). The men's 4 by 100-meter relay team of Dina Fagnon, Luke Beehler, John Jackman, and Donaldson is fourth (42.24 seconds).
Cody Loshe is fourth in the pole vault (4.53 meters). Cain Hohne is tied for eighth in the high jump (1.95 meters).
Aaron Martin is second in the javelin throw (61.99 meters), seventh in the shot put (14.71 meters), and eighth in the discus throw (44.72 meters). Asher Walden is fifth in the hammer throw (52.71 meters). Zyler Johnson is seventh in the discus throw (45.41 meters) and hammer throw (48.58 meters). Garrett Anglemeyer is 10th in the shot put (14.17 meters).

Katie Clark ranks first in the 400-meter dash (55.31 seconds). Jesseca Hudson-Turpin (13.88 seconds), Jordan Yanders (14.26 seconds), Sophia Buck (14.38 seconds) and Dylan Kirkwood (14.39 seconds) are third, fifth, sixth and seventh in the 100-meter hurdles. Buck (1:04.43), Hudson-Turpin (1:04.78) and Kirkwood (1:04.79) are sixth through eighth in the 400-meter hurdles.
Madison King is fourth in the 10,000 meter run (36:24.45) and sixth in the 1500-meter run (4:40.34). Brooke Neal is ninth in the 3000-meter steeplechase (11:39.06).
The women's 4 by 400-meter relay team of Clark, Buck, Hudson-Turpin and Kirkwood is third (4:00.23). The women's 4 by 100-meter relay of Haley Pandazis, Josefin Wikfeldt, Jai Reed and Yanders is tied for fifth (48.16 seconds).
Miranda Haney is tied for fourth in the high jump (1.65 meters). Louiza Kruiswijk is 10th in the triple jump (11.20 meters).
Megan Sinnott (38.36 meters) and Buck (32.73 meters) are third and ninth in the javelin throw. Nakia Harris-Campbell is eighth in the shot put (12.67 meters), ninth in the hammer throw (45.52 meters).
