Martin & Auernheimer Score Points at Day One of Horizon League Championships

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Purdue Fort Wayne student-athletes Aaron Martin and Kai Auernheimer scored points during day one of the 2022 Horizon League Outdoor Championships on Friday, May 6.
Martin (56.33 meters) Auernheimer (52.69 meters) finished in fourth and sixth place in the men's javelin. The two combined for eight points in the event.
At the end of day one, the Mastodons sit in fifth place with eight points.
Through the first five events of the men's decathlon, Auernheimer (3080 points) and Logan Alexander (3053 points) are in third and fifth place.
Auernheimer finished fourth in the long jump (6.23 meters) and shot put (11.65 meters), fifth in the 400-meter (55.67 seconds), sixth in the high jump (1.75 meters), and seventh in the 100-meter dash (11.75 seconds).
Alexander was second in the high jump (1.81 meters) and 400-meter dash (52.99 seconds), fifth in the 100-meter dash (11.71 seconds), eighth in the shot put (10.06 meters), and ninth in the long jump (5.77 meters).
Day two of the Horizon League Championships continues tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. with the men's 110-meter hurdles.
