Riley Tate Named Horizon League Freshman of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS – Purdue Fort Wayne's Riley Tate has been named the Nike Horizon League Women's Cross Country Freshman of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday (Sept. 21).
The Columbus, Ohio native ran a time of 19:10.2 for 59th at the 18-team John McNichols Invite in the 5K. She had the best 5K time of any freshman in the league last week. Tate's time was second best on the team at the John McNichols Invite, trailing only her All-Horizon League teammate Madison King.
This is the first career weekly award for Tate.
The 'Dons return to action on Oct. 1 at the Live in Lou Classic.
