Jai Reed Earns Victory in 200 Meters at Illini Classic

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Jai Reed won the 200 meters for the Purdue Fort Wayne women's track and field team at the Illini Classic on Friday (Jan. 6).
Jai Reed earned the win with a time of 27.03. She bested her teammate Jesseca Hudson-Turpin by .02. Hudson-Turpin was fourth in the 60 hurdles, stopping the clock in 8.86 in the finals. Reed also finished the 60 meters in 7.91 for fourth place.
Miranda Haney and Marin Hart tied for second in the high jump (1.60 meters). Makaila Groves ran the 800 meters in 2:24.22, taking third.
Ali Sparks used a toss of 12.84 meters to take second in the shot put.
Dylan Kirkwood earned fourth in the long jump (5.21 meters).
The 'Dons are back in action on Jan. 14 at Trine's Sean Brady Alumni Opener.
