Mastodon Women's Track & Field Win Sean Brady Alumni Invite

ANGOLA Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne women's track and field team won the Sean Brady Alumni Invite on Saturday (Jan. 14). The event was hosted by Trine University. The Mastodons scored 143 points to edge second place Marian (132 points).
The Mastodons had three of the top four spots in the mile. Riley Tate won with a time of 5:19.18, less than half a second ahead of the second-place finisher. Bella Hodges was third (5:22.94) and Ava Genovese took fourth (5:24.70). Jesseca Hudson-Turpin had a pair of wins on Saturday. She earned the top spot in the 60m hurdles, stopping the clock in 8.64. She also won the 400 meters (1:00.77). The 'Dons also had a victory in the 60 meters with Jai Reed winning in 7.73.
The 'Dons were first and third in the 400 meters. Katie Clark won (1:38.48) and Makaila Groves took third (1:41.35).
The Mastodons won the 4x400 relay thanks to a time of 4:18.29 by Hodges, Genovese, Tate and Madison King.
Angela Morisette earned a second-place performance in the 200 meters (26.23). Brooke Neal was second in the 3000 meters (10:22.59).
Rosiebella Fiabema finished second in the weight throw (15.63 meters). McKayla Henry was third in the shot put (11.78 meters).
The 'Dons will host the Mastodon Invite on Saturday (Jan. 21) at 11 a.m. at the Lutheran Health Fieldhouse. The 'Dons will also send some athletes to the Brant Tolsma Invitation hosted by Liberty University on January 19-21.
