FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's and women's track and field teams are coming off a week of awards as they prepare to compete in the Sean Brady Alumni Opener on January 14 (Noon).

Lookin' Back - Women's
Jai Reed and Jesseca Hudson-Turpin locked in first and second place finishes in the 200 meter dash on Friday (Jan. 6). These first and second places finishes at the Illini Classic were earned with times of 27.03 (Reed) and 27.05 (Hudson-Turpin). Reed will be in the 60 meters and the 4x400 relay on Saturday at Trine. Hudson-Turpin will be in the 400 meters and 60 hurdles at Trine. Katie Clark will run in the 600 meters with the best time
Lookin' Back - Men's
Brent Donaldson and Braxton Trittipo each ran a time of 23.57 in the men's 200 meter dash, bringing home the top two spots in the Illini Classic as well. Donaldson will be in the 60 meters and 60 hurdles on Saturday at Trine.
Sweeping The #HLTF Awards
The 'Dons won all four possible awards Horizon League weekly awards last week. On the female side, Makaila Groves picked up the women's runner of the week accolade by earning the third-best time in the Horizon League for the 800 meters (2:24.22). Ali Sparks earned the women's field athlete of the week honor with a shot put mark of 12.84 meters, which places her with the third best in the Horizon League.
On the men's side, Braxton Trittipo earned th men's runner of the week of honor two top-two finishes in the Illini Classic (400 meter dash and 200 meter dash). Zyler Johnson brought home the men's field athlete of the week with the third-best time in the Horizon League for the weighted throw (16.66 meters).
Looking Forward
The 'Dons will host the Mastodon Invite on Saturday (Jan. 21) at 11 a.m. at the Lutheran Health Fieldhouse. The 'Dons will also send some athletes to the Brant Tolsma Invitation hosted by Liberty University on January 19-21.
