Mastodons Gear up for GVSU and IU Invitationals

FORT WAYNE Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's and women's track & field teams will split up and head to both Grand Valley State University and Indiana University. The 'Dons are coming off a performance last week with multiple school records.

Women - Pair of Records
Sophia Buck, Jesseca Hudson-Turpin, Dylan Kirkwood and Katie Clark set a new 4x400 record at 3:50.61. They broke the same record they set two weeks earlier, taking three seconds off their previous time. Clark had the second record of the day. She ran the 200 in 25.43 for a new program mark. Clark also turned in a third-place performance in the 400 (56.59).
Men - Triple Threat
The men's track and field team brought home a sixth place finish at the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic. In this meet, the men also set three school records. Braxton Trittipo set a new mark in the 400 meters (48.74) to take third place while also running a leg in a school record breaking 4x400 performance (3:17.54). Trittipo was joined by Troy Golden, Brent Donaldson, and Nicolas Blair to take third place in the relay. Harrison Niswander had the Mastodons' third record of the day. The freshman ran the mile in 4:17.30 for seventh place.
