Mastodons Fall in Nightcap

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Purdue Fort Wayne fell to Ball State 11-0 in the second game of the day for the Mastodon baseball team on Saturday (March 4).
Ball State scored two in the second and added single runs in the third and fourth innings. They opened it up with three in the fifth and three more in the sixth. Decker Scheffler and Blake Bevis each had a home run for the Cardinals.
Ty Johnson went five innings to get the win for Ball State. He is 1-1. Rex Stills is now 0-3 after suffering the loss. Stills allowed for runs in 4.0 innings.
Bryce Martens threw the final 2.1 innings for the 'Dons, allowing just one hit and no runs.
Ball State is now 6-4. The 'Dons are 2-9. The two clubs will play again on Sunday.
