School Records Set at Both Meets on Friday for Men’s Track & Field

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. & FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Mastodon men's track and field team set three new school records on Friday (April 7) in a pair of meets. The 'Dons were competing at Tennessee and Indiana Tech.
Tennessee Invitational:
Andrew Whitinger broke his own school record in the 5000 meters. He finished in fourth place with a time of 14:34.18. Nicholas Mills was ninth with a time of 14:45.06, a time that would've been a school record if not for Whitinger's effort. The field had 25 competitors.
Braxton Trittipo set a new school record in the 200 meters (22.00), taking 20th.
Aaron Martin won the javelin (59.13 meters). Kai Auernheimer (51.85) took fourth.
The 'Dons had two in the top 10 in the discus. Aaron Martin was eighth (44.41 meters) and Zyler Johnson was ninth (41.47 meters).
Brent Donaldson earned 11th in the 400 hurdles (56.53). Draven Thompson was 25th in the 1500 meters (4:00.71).
Indiana Tech Warrior Open:
In the shot put, Brevin Miller was second (15.53 meters) with a new school record.
Cain Hohne was first in the high jump (1.94 meters). Lane Hawkins took fourth (1.84 meters). Noah Wright took third in the 3000 steeplechase (11:49.42). Cody Loshe earned fourth in the pole vault (4.35 meters).
The final day of the Tennessee Invitational is set for Saturday.
